Wow, if things stay to form for the rest of the season I don't see PV making the playoffs. GC's gonna struggle to get in too if this keeps up.

How many of us would have said before the season that the 1st round games of the RD-D2 playoffs would be Honaker @ Lee High and Lebanon @ JJ Kelly?

This season has been interesting to say the least.

Both Lee High and J.J. Kelly have been untested so far this season (outside of their one loss). I do give them credit for their success so far this season, as it's great for the kids and the communities, but both teams schedules were heavily loaded with weaker opponents in the first half of the season and have the "meat" of their schedule coming up. I just hope people won't go on with "What happened to Lee/JJK here late in the season? They're not playing good like they did earlier on!"

I really don't foresee both of them making the playoffs, maybe one, possibly neither. The weaker scheduling might pay off for one of them, allowing them to be granted a postseason position.

I agree, Lee is pretty solid and should make the playoffs, if Kelly beats PV, they are in,,,,,What does it take for PV to make it, if it is even possible now.

Re: Region D. Div. 2 Power Ratings

Like I said, we'll see - let's let them play it on the field and not on an internet messageboard.

You do realize that Middlesboro has only beat one team with a winning record, don't you? The thing about Eastern Kentucky high school football, you have the haves and the have-nots. There's not much room in between there either. Most people over there as well as some who keep up with it around here know that Middlesboro has played several have-nots up to this point.
I don't put a lot of stock in anything that comes out of that region, outside of Belfry, Corbin and an occasional Breathitt team in the past 5-6. You can argue and reply on here to you're blue in the face, but the fact of the matter is there's a hell of a lot weaker football being played over there than in southwest Virginia. Preach all you want, there's no denying the truth Bub.

As above, time will tell how this season plays out. It's only half way through - lots of football left to be played.

Re: Region D. Div. 2 Power Ratings

If Middlesboro is as good as any team in Region D, then why did they lose to Lee, the same team that PV beat fairly easy. Its gonna be sad knowing that the best team in D2 misses the playoffs because they actually played teams like Richlands, Burton, and Clintwood instead of playing the school of the deaf dumb and blind every other week. Im not a PV fan but if they are 7-3 and get left out, especially after losing 3 games by a total of about 14 points, then it really is a sad situtation that the vhsl needs to fix. Lee High is no good and everyone knows it. PV takes the boot and crams it up their asses every year. Burton beats Middlesboro by 4 touchdowns.

Well, Middlesboro plays Corbin next week. Should be a good one.

What will be better than watching two Kentucky teams face each other to decide how good Lee High is, once October 19th gets here the Generals will have four decent opponents on the ticket - Lebanon, Gate City, Virginia High and Haysi. To me that will tell much more than some kid from Thomas Walker extolling the virtues of Eastern Kentucky high school football on an internet messageboard. You're a reasonable guy, beamerball, I am sure you are in agreement with that assessment.
